Hunter woke me at 7:50 which I don’t think he has ever slept that late!
Off we went through Amarillo again and past The Cadillac Ranch to our first stop, The Milburn – Price Culture Museum in Vega where both Hunter and I got to use a printing press from 1896 to create post cards and we saw the real Lizzie.
And then we did it! WE HIT THE MIDWAY POINT where the inspiration for Flo was found.
Then we went through the ghost town of Glenrio,TX. Once we crossed into New Mexico, we were again in Glenrio and stopped at a really cool truck stop complete with a classic car museum.
We made it to Tucumcari whose mountain is also found in Radiator Springs. While there we went to a small Rt. 66 museum, Tee Pee Curios, and saw the famous Blue Swallow Motel. We also visited the a dinosaur museum run by the local college.
Finishing our day in Santa Rosa we visitors The Blue Hole which Hunter deemed TOO COLD! So we went back to our hotel and lounges in the hot tub while I did a load of laundry. Glamorous, I know but it is done and I won’t have to think about it again during this trip!
