Today started by leaving Needles in already 90+ degree weather at 8:30 am. INSANE! Let’s not discuss what the desert has done to my hair. And the car has decided that it needs an oil change.
I hadn’t realized it last night, but we didn’t need to go to the museum for our stamp… Instead we went to The Wagon Wheel restaurant. With stamp competed, I followed the route, but had to turn around and backtrack in Amboy…apparently, a bridge has structural damage…so onward.
We saw The Baghdad Cafe which apparently is a very big deal and drove through Barstow without much fanfare. All of the things we would have gone through were closed.
We made our way past The Bottle Tree Ranch which was closed as well (the owner recently passed away and there’s been a lot of chatter as to what will happen to the property), but I think I got good pics anyway…it was actually really cool and I would have liked to spend some time there.
After some more twisty turny heights driving, we got to San Bernardino where we went to the McDonald’s Museum, checked into our AMAZINGLY COOL motel, ate a lunch that no one will expect/believe, had pool time, and ended the day with my favourite Cali cuisine!
