Literally no idea when I first became aware of The Magid castle, but I can guarantee it had something to do with Neil Patrick Harris. My NPH had once been The President of The Magic Castle, so when I first started researching my 2019 trip, I looked it up.
So here’s the thing, The Castle is a big deal…like BIG DEAL… apparently it is the most exclusive club in LA. The only way to get in is to be a member, as in a magician ho has passed a series of tests, know a member, or stay at the The Magic castle Hotel. And this is where it gets curiouser. The hotel is NOT owned by The Castle, and instead is a privately owned hotel with Melrose Place vibes that has a partnership with The Castle.
