I have vivid childhood memories of the commercials for the NYS Museum. The picture panned across an elk leaping out of a riverbed, as the announcer said that there was a subway car as a young girl swung herself into a seat with joy and then visited Sesame Street. I thought it was the best thing ever! I visited the museum on my first trip to Albany in the 8th grade and then insisted we visit again in college while visiting Frank who was attending SUNY Albany.
So as I entered with Hunter, my mind remembered my long ago encounters as I experienced a new, remodeled, and sincerely fascinating museum. I love Hunter, but he runs through everything, so slowing down enough to read all the information was impossible but give yourself hours to stroll through this amazing space.
Alos, the parking is a nightmare! There appears to be a bunch of parking lots and great news: they’re free, but when we went, we could not find a spot. Somehow, I parallel parked into the smallest spot possible.
