In 1996, I was living in Virginia and although very out of touch with Broadway, I never missed The Tonys. That year I saw a group of young people dancing on a table while they sang of Pablo Neruda and curry vindaloo. They sang with joy and anguish and fear and hope and I instantly had to know everything about this show. Rent is wonderfully sad and life affirming; to this day, I cannot get through “Will I?” without crying, but my second favorite song of all time is “One Song Glory.” Adam Pascal’s voice is just incomparable, and I make an effort to see him whenever the opportunity arises … Aida three times, Cabaret, Disaster, at a local theater, Comic Con, and now tonight at Feinstein’s 54 Below along with Anthony Rapp and my friend Paul on bass.
Feinstein 54 Below (on 54th and 8th) is a dinner cabaret experience. The doors opened about 90 minutes before the show and by the time the guys came on stage, we were happily fed and a bit tipsy! 100% recommend for a great night out.
