After a little bit late start, after I almost melted down cause I couldn’t figure out the $40 app I bought to navigate this bad boy …I was opening the wrong app… we drove into Pontiac…a seriously adorable town filled with murals, museums, and adorable little art cars (I know grammar on that sentence was shit…please forgive me)
Then we made our way stopping whenever we saw something nifty…which is how most of this trip will go.
We made a Dedicated Hunter Stop at The Miller Park Zoo (absolutely lovely little zoo where the animals are obviously well cared for) in Bloomington and then we were on our way to Springfield.
We tried to take one of the suggested routes (as 66 splits quite a few times), but ten miles in, there was a road block, so we had to double back. We also missed the largest wagon because we had to drive around the state fair…can’t make that up
Dinner at the Cozy Dog where they invented the corn dog…it was a corn dog
Tonight’s hotel began its life as a Holiday Inn and is in the process of some serious updates. It was good enough.
