Although pretty self-explanatory, I cannot travel without these items! They make life so much better. As an Amazon Associate, I earn commission from qualifying purchases.
Moleskin! This is the exact one I use! Protect your feet against the pain of blisters and give relief to any rubbing! My Comic-Con backpack has this annoying spot on my shoulder, so I just add some moleskin and I’m off (and no, I am NOT getting a new backpack… it’s my favourite!)
I’ve even been known to hand it out at Disney to strangers complaining of blisters!
As I have gotten older, I now require a whole cadre of pain relievers, but BioFreeze is my go to! Carry-On Friendly, I can also throw in my backpack for any adventure I go on.
Talk about Carry-On Friendly! These single use eye drops are necessary. Dry eyes are my life, and I often wake with eye pain. These swiften to relax my eyes, so I ca get moving faster.
Portable Chargers (which I call Bricks) are so so so important. Thse are the ones I own, and I love it! Anker is a great charger, and I can get more than two charges for my phone on the 20,000mAh, and it’s less than a pound! I also like that the wires are NOT built in as is with the new trend. I have a kindle, iPhone/iPad, and Switch that all have different cables.
I always bring an old-fashioned cigarette lighter USB charger. You never know what rental car you’re going to get, and I like to be prepared. I like this one because it has the USB and USB-C.
Just in case the rental does not have Apple CarPlay, I bring a cell phone holder for the car vent. There I was in a California CVS buying an overpriced vent configuration and a pop for my phone. I have upgraded since, and I go no where without this because you never know and navigating with a cell phone in the cup holder is no fun.
A travel friendly power strip that doesn’t’ take up a lot of space is a must. I have this exact one! I love how the cord stays neatly in place around the power bank!
This is something I cannot LIVE without, never mind travel! My mother always said I would lose my head if it weren’t attached…seriously, when my cousin got on the school bus to give me lunch in the 3rd grade, he literally told me that was what she said! At one point the DMV told me I would go on the terrorist watch list if I lost my license one more time! So this is invaluable to me. This cell phone case holds two cards: my license and my AmEx. I have only left it behind once…ok maybe twice, but I realized it really quickly and that is a way better before this was in my life!
Oh, and I’m also, what my MS doctor called, a congenital klutz, and this baby has saved my phone from cracking so so so many times! I am linking the latest iPhone size, but if you need a different version just copy and paste this: Spigen Slim Armor.
I really debated about adding this, but I can’t pretend that I can go anywhere without my paperwhite. Compact and sturdy, it adds no weight and fits everywhere including my back pocket. I can knock out a chapter while waiting on line at a theme park…that is if there’s no one fun to talk to. But seriously, when eating alone, it nicer than mindlessly swiping through the phone.
I seriously cannot live without Downy Wrinkle Release in my regularly life, so it is the perfect travel companion and way less bulky than a steamer! Carry-On Friendly!!
You need storage bags! I like to go with a 2.5 gallon size and a sandwich size that way I have a super big ones in case clothing gets wet or some unforeseen something happens. Small storage bags are handy in I want to bring something home that is loose like the purple sand from Julia Pfeiffer State Park on PCH.
Cooling towels! If you’re going someplace hot, especially with my child, bring cooling towels! Even if you must pay the $20 for at Disney for the towel buy the towel! I mean, not that I have ever had to do that … twice. Just sayin’…
In the same vein as the cooling towel, we have a couple of these fans that can be worn around the neck. The great thing about them is that the air is aimed right at your chin!
Pack a garbage bags. I usually just grab a few kitchen sized from home. They are super helpful on road trips or use to store dirty laundry.
I love packing cubes! My favourites are super old and from 31. I like that they have hard sides and I don’t mean hard in like they’re rigid, but they stand up a little bit more than cubes that are just glorified Ziplocs. Of course, mine aren’t made anymore, but I searched and found these. I can fit a ton in them and everything stays nice and secure.
On the other hand, my niece, Elizabeth, hates packing cubes, so again find what works for you, but for my money, I love shoving all of my underwear into one cube and not having to worry about it or my socks flying all over the place or Hunter’s stuff comingling with mine. And if you’re on a road trip it makes it super easy just open up the packing cube and know that you’re getting socks and underwear from it and to whom they belong.
Electronics get their own packing cube, and this is mine! It keeps all the different wires and chargers organized, and even fits the iPad!!!
Ok… I can totally live without this, but Debrah cannot! If you are all about your selfies, get this clip on ring. It really does make a huge difference, and she is addicted!!!
