Duke’s – Malibu
Honolulu native and five time Olympic medalist, Duke Paoa Kahanamoku introduced surfing to the US Atlantic coast, Australia, and New Zealand in the early 1900s. With six locations, I have been to this one and Huntington Beach. Kathy Kohner Zuckerma, the inspiration for Gidget (my favourite show growing up), is the Ambassador of Aloha a the…

Paradise Cove
Sabrina and I arrived on a gloomy morning in June of 2019 at this famous restaurant/beachfront resort. A ton of movies, TV shows, and videos were filmed here including Madonna’s “Cherish”, the pier scene from Indecent Proposal, and Beach Blanket Bingo. Breakfast was good (Nepenthe was better).

Laguna Beach
Just a few hours in this beachside town. I parked, walked, and ate…food was just ok, so not including it on my restaurant page.

The Drunken Crab
When the front desk employee at my hotel recommended The Boiling Crab for dinner I was suspect. Shouldn’t I be eating on the pier and not in town? Crab Legs Louisiana Style (corn, potato, and sausage) in Garlic Butter Sauce! So so so good! There’s also one in North Hollywood.

Santa Barbara
I spent a few hours meandering Santa Barbara and had a fantastic dinner! I stayed at The Mason Beach Inn and loved it. Super comfy bed, clean and spacious room, and safe!

Santa Cruz
I was in Santa Cruz for a few short hours, but it’s fantastic! With a spot where you are sure to see surfers, the surfing museum, sea lions, and a boardwalk.

Warner Brother’s Studio Tour
In 2019, I was totally psyched to take the tour and see the Gilmore Girls Gazebo! As we settled into our tram, our tour guides radio sounded and he let out a audible sigh, and with that sigh went my hopes and dreams to see that gazebo until 2022! I once again got myself on…

La Brea Tar Pits
I literally had no idea this existed before my 2019 trip. A friend asked if I would be going to see it, and I didn’t know because I didn’t know! But I will say that Dinosaur Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction at Disney World’s Hollywood Studios makes so much more sense now!!! The Tar Pits…

Random Sites
In driving around and searching things out or just stumbling upon them, there are a ton of sites in LA that just are but don’t really fit in with anything I’ve done, but I have pictures. Griffith Observatory – Rebel Without a Cause was filmed here, but it is a nightmare to park, so I…
