We have arrived at the Mother Ship!
The San Diego Zoo!
I have a ridiculous amount of pictures that I’ll post — of animals, some of Hunter, and some of Hunter with animals…
As soon as we got there, we took a 30-minute double-decker bus tour of the zoo. Getting a feel for the zoo was a really great way to start the day because it’s massive and, honestly, not laid out very well — lots of hills and a weird flow.
We waited in line for 45 minutes to see the giant panda, which was totally worth it, because it’s probably the only time in our lives we’ll ever see a giant panda.

It was really hot, and Hunter had some issues waiting for the giant pandas, but we rebounded really well. When we were done with the zoo, Hunter wanted one last spaghetti and meatball meal in Little Italy.

As I write this, we are sitting in the San Diego airport awaiting our flight! I am so exhausted, I almost don’t have words for it. But these two weeks have been amazing! Hunter, who struggled so much last year, did exceptionally well with very few behaviours. The places we saw, the people we met, and the experiences we had are something I’ll look back on in the coming weeks as I try to digest it all. I’m also so lucky I got to spend time with my East Coast transplant — Disney was an even happier place than normal because of Joe.
After I’m home tomorrow and have a bit of sleep, I’ll do a full reflection, link all the pages correctly, and review what worked and what I want to change for next year.

Once again, Hunter’s faces! So much engagement and happiness! That plate of spaghetti looked amazing! Hope you both sleep well every night for the next month!
